Save The Date Magnets Can Work! Here’s How To Use Them
A great way to let your special people know of a special upcoming event is by using save the date magnets. For those of you who have no clue what I am referring to, these magnets are mailed off in lieu of the traditional save the date card, which is usually stuck up on the icebox by an existing magnet as always!
Some people relegate these magnets as a way to inform folks that the date for a very special celebration has been set and that it is very serious that they save this particular date. As you may already know these save the date magnets are not usually used in place of the formal RSVP, but simply for making sure the most important folks in your life know about your event right away. Also they are outstanding for reminding people about your celebration throughout the days leading up to it.
The hottest use of the save the date magnet is for marriage-type celebrations. Weddings don’t come once every year for us like birthdays—we’d go broke if they did—so it is important to get the date determined and the information out to your ”soon to be invited formally” as soon as possible. It is a once in a lifetime event (or should be) and it would be atrocious if a favorite aunt and uncle made plans for Cabo because they didn’t know you were getting married the same weekend! Of course, one option would be to have them come to your wedding and then they let you have their vacation for your honeymoon! Getting back to the real world, printing up the formal invitations and cards can take a long time, especially if you care about how they turn out and if they look good. So the best thing to do is create some save the date magnets and get them out immediately. When your loved ones receive them, most likely they will apply them onto their fridge and they will see it very frequently. They are going to remember your wedding now! Eventually you can send off your traditional response cards, and even print that on the save the date magnet: “Actual Response Cards To Follow.”
Another popular use for these magnets is for special birthdays (the decades, 21, etc.). Here, they can serve as the actual invitation too. Just be sure to put your RSVP phone number and/or email in the RSVP. You could say, “Please RSVP to 555-5555 or rsvp@email or never speak to you again!” would maybe work in making sure people actually answer!
Now, these save the date magnets can be used for just about any special event you have in the near future. There’s no reason why they wouldn’t work for a bar-mitsfah, a sweet 16, a retirement, an anniversary, and so on and so on and more. And since there are so many designs and styles to choose from, you should have no issues finding exactly what blends in with your particular party!
If you theme it correctly and send them out in a timely manner, your special people will respond with how funny your save the date magnets are. And you’ll be able to be very proud of your very first step in your long journey of getting the show on the road. Have the time of your life producing them. Just don’t forget to make your save the date magnets fit with your personal appeal!
