Rubik 360 & Other Rubik Games – 3 Mistakes To Avoid

With so many Rubik’s puzzles to choose from, one being the fastest selling toy the world has ever seen, one being a toy expected to be in the top ten this Christmas and some whose success never got started, do you know enough about them to buy the right one for your child? If you are not sure, read on, as in this article I will cover some of the mistakes people make when buying these popular puzzles.

1.    Don’t run before you can walk

If you search online for a Rubik’s cube, you will not only find the hugely popular original 3×3 cube, but you will also find 4×4, 5×5 and 7×7 versions. Now the 3×3 cube is hard enough for beginners and is sure to give you hours of addictive, frustrating fun. So if this is your first Rubik’s puzzle, stick with the smallest version. If you master this, then by all means move on.

2.    Don’t buy the Cube if you are more physical than logical

The Rubik’s cubes offer a logical, mathematical based problem. The new Rubik 360, however, moves into the physics realm and is best solved by developing skills through lots of handling of the sphere. If you want something you can twist and turn and shout at until you work it out, go with one of the many cubes. If you want to become one with a frustrating set of balls, then go with the 360. Here instead of moving coloured squares back into a solid 3×3 cube face, you get to guide six coloured balls through two see through spheres to a third outer sphere which has pods waiting for the balls. With the internal spheres moving in different directions and holes in these spheres always ending up pointing upwards when the balls are at the bottom, you will need to learn to handle and balance the spheres correctly to succeed.

3.    Don’t give up

The Rubik’s puzzles are supposed to be frustratingly addictive. There are a zillion things you can try before you get to the one solution, but keep at it. You will feel a great sense of achievement if you pull it off. If you do get stuck though, there is a seven step solution guide included with the cube or you could watch one of about 40,000 videos on YouTube to help you through it.
