Radley Bags and Handbags

Radley bags is a UK designer handbag company that was created in 1998. Each year their popularity has grown until they are now the most popular UK designer handbag maker. They are not as well known outside of the UK as the ‘big’ names such as Louis Vuitton, Coach, Prada, Fendi etc… but they are neverthless becoming increasingly sought after and their Scottie dog logo is becoming well-known. They have recently opened stores and websites in the USA.

Their aim is to create “beautiful things that women can fall in love with” an as such they are known for their individuality and quirky creativity as they strive to ensure “original design, exceptional hand-crafting, distinctive pattern work, extraordinary colour schemes and unusual textures”

What is the Radley definition of creativity ? Well they see it as “lighting fires of inspiration and doing our job with passion and …. being stimulated by the world outside the window as well as the world inside your head” they consider their creations to be “works of art and ourselves as artists, because having a vision is our biggest asset.”

Their handbags are also very colorful and they try to colour to “capture humour, … give off attitude … make a statement … add character and …. bring fun into our lives and our products.”

They strive for originality in all their creations and endeavour to add an element of surprise, as they put it “it is bBetter to fail in originality than suceed in imitation”.

Radley bags are bright with a wealth of distinctive details. They use vividly coloured leathers plus a variety of other materials and their craftsmen pay great attention to detail throughout.

Unfortunately for Radley and their fans, the success of the brand has led to the spawning of numerous fakes. As a result Radley have taken innovative steps to combat the fakers.

In 2008 they launched a new authentication label. This label is an LCD printed label which includes a form of Mirage technology.
