New Hanvon Ebook Readers

In China the Hanwang Technology Co lead the field with their WiseReader range of Hanvon Ebook Readers.  Elsewhere their products sell to a happy but small niche market.  Those looking for multiple language support and/or handwriting recognition enjoy the benefits of this particular range.

Whilst everyone seems to know about the Best Sony Ebook Readers or amazon’s Global Kindle, few are discussing this quiet giant of the technology market.  2010 looks set to see that all change though.  After the excitement of CES in January, Hanvon have continued to showcase their new, cutting edge e-reading devices on the world stage.  At last October’s massive literary gathering, the Frankfurt Book Fair, Hanvon showed just how well they are getting along with publishers.  This is the key to the success of any new reading device.  Amazon’s massive library is why the Kindle has done so well and it looks like Hanwang Technology Co have taken this information to heart.  Working with publishers, the Hanvon Ebook Readers look set to have a huge stock of material that is easy to buy and download.  In fact they are so confident of their dealings with publishers that many of their WiseReader range of ebook reading devices will be supplied with up to 100 titles too.

At the moment, the full range of WiseReaders is not available to customers outside of China.  But with promises of distribution later in the year, we will all have a greater choice of which e-reader to purchase.

All, but one in their range use an electromagnetic screen and stylus to allow simple notes to be taken by hand.  The readers recognise handwriting in multiple languages including Chinese which makes them perfect for students of this language that is set to become so important for the businessmen of the future.

The range includes pocket size readers with 5″ E-ink screens, several 6″ models and an 8″ product great for reading reports, PDFs and so on, and that is likely to be in serious competition with both the Sony Daily Edition and the larger Kindle DX.

Whilst wireless connectivity options are included in the range, several also have integral QWERTY keypads too.

It looks like the new Hanvon Ebook Readers will provide a much greater choice for consumers looking for a mid-range E-reader.
