Eco Disinfectant

Trying to keep all your Cleaning Eco Friendly, but missing the power of your old anti-bacterial cleaners?  Time for a rethink and an Eco Disinfectant.

With the surge in Green Cleaning comes the hunt for a truly Eco Disinfectant.  Many of us have become accustomed to using anti-bacterial cleaners.  Even when we switch to environmentally friendly cleaning methods it seems we really do not want to give up our ability to kill 99% of germs DEAD.  We want Green Cleaning Products that will make us feel safer and more environmentally friendly but also do what our old bottle of bleach did.

Eco disinfectant is a bit of a misnomer really.  After all how great for the environment can something be if we are using it to destroy natural organisms.  I am not suggesting you live in squalor but simple things like keeping surfaces dry and free from debris will keep bacteria down to safe levels.  We are bombarded with messages to wash our hands regularly, to stop transferring truly dangerous bacteria around.  And, what are we told to wash our hands with?  Not some Green Antibacterial cleaner.  No, just soap and running water.

That’s the thing, soap will get rid of most things.  As too will vinegar and salt, so why do we carry on yearning for a replacement for bleach?  The truth is, for the majority of us, this all out destruction of germs simply isn’t warranted.  Okay I’m all for hospitals being clean and far more free of bacteria than they often are.  But that is because they are full of folks with weakened immune systems.  If you are healthy your home should not pose you a danger if it is kept clean, even if there is not a bottle of Eco Disinfectant in sight.

Remember how bacteria are controlled in food?  Drying, soaking in vinegar or salt.  Bacteria in food you are putting in your mouth is far more dangerous than anything on your floor – you’re not eating off it are you?  So why not try these natural Eco Disinfectants for a truly Green Antibacterial clean?
