Ben 10 Games – What Every Parent Needs To Know
When it comes to Ben 10, our alien mad children will never have enough toys and games from the ever growing range. But as a Ben 10 parent, you will not want to buy everything so you need to be sure that what you do buy will hold lasting interest for your child and give you good value for money. To help you out, this article will cover the three main types of Ben 10 game – video games, action games and card games.
Ben 10 video games are a best buy. There are two of them available depending on which of the two cartoon series your child prefers. The aliens you can transform into in each game differ according to the aliens available in the TV show. Protector Of Earth is the game for the original series with characters such as Heatblast and Four Arms and Alien Force is the second game, with characters such as Spidermonkey and Swampfire. The games are typical beat-em up platform games where players get to transform into an alien of their choosing to battle enemies they encounter. Two players can help each other defeat the villains and each player can join or leave at any point during play. The game is easy but not too much so it is still challenging. It has good graphics, story and sound and is recommended for players aged 5-12 years.
For a Ben 10 action game you should choose either the Laser Set, Quickshot game or Pinball. The Laser Set is a box of two guns that fire lasers and score hits on their infrared sensors. Players get to run around, firing at each other and trying to hide from shots. The guns are chunky and styled with Alien Force motifs. They give out lights and sounds during play and offer battling fun for any Ben 10 fan. The Quickshot game is just as fast moving but from a sat down position. Players fire marbles at each other’s playing pieces across the board. The first to knock down all of their opponent’s characters wins. Lastly the Pinball game is a Ben 10 version of the classic pinball machines. It is lightweight so highly portable and features lights, sounds and a digital score board.
Card games are the other mainstay of the Ben 10 games range. Top Trumps is a key contender, featuring all of the popular characters in all their glory on well drawn colourful cards. Players have to beat their opponents score in the category chosen which could be Freakiness, Strength or a few others. You can then choose from two battling card games – firstly the Omnitrix Duel For Power game where the Omnitrix power dial rules the play or the Trading Card Game where you get to battle with Heatblast’s blazing attacks or Four Arms’ crushing strength. If you go for the latter you need to first buy the Starter Deck to be sure of everything you need and then onto the Booster Packs to supplement your card deck with seven more cards.
This article has covered a number of Ben 10 games that you should be looking for but there are a few you should avoid. These are the Total Transformation game, the DVD game and the Aliens v Villains game.
